Union Board Elections and Activities (2006–2011 Term)

• At the Union’s General Assembly meeting on 15/4/2006, elections were held for the Union’s Board of Directors for the new term 2006–2011. The following seven members were elected unopposed:
• • Mr. Mohamed Mohamed Ali El-Feki — Eastern Mediterranean area (Port Said and North Sinai)
  • Mr. Awad Mohamed Marzouk — Gulf of Suez, Red Sea, South Sinai, and Merah Lakes
  • Mr. Nour El-Din Abdallah Namir — Lake Edku and cooperatives of Beheira governorate operating in the Mediterranean
  • Mr. Hassan Ali El-Qashawy — Central Mediterranean area (Damietta governorate)
  • Mr. Mohamed Helmy El-Rais — Lake Manzala
  • Mr. Mostafa Mahmoud Youssef — Lake Qarun, Wadi El-Rayan, Nile, and inland waters (Giza and Beni Suef)
  • Mr. Mohamed Gouda El-Sayed — Cooperative Society for Fish Farming

• The remaining six seats were contested, and the winners were:
• 1. Mr. Ashraf Ali Mohamed Zureik — Western Mediterranean area, 76 votes
  2. Mr. Mohamed Khidr Hassan Youssef — Lake Burullus and Kafr El-Sheikh cooperatives, 44 votes
  3. Mr. Youssef Mohamed Zare’ — Nile River and inland waters from Assiut to Qena, 41 votes
  4. Mr. Ahmed Ibrahim Ahmed — Nile River and inland waters in Lower Egypt, 50 votes
  5. Mr. Ramadan Mahmoud Mohamed Abdu — General seat for all fishing areas, 46 votes
  6. Mr. Shawky Mahmoud El-Sayed — Lake Nasser and Nile area in Aswan, 43 votes
